Ombre Fire Nails!

I was lookoing for inspiration on the internet and saw a picture of ombre nails. I had to try it out myself. I used Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails in Cool It! Frost as the main base color. It's very sheer so I had to use 3 generous coats of it. The I used the sponge method to add the orange gradation to my tips. The orange is OPI's A Roll in the Hague and it's very opaque and one of my favorite colors. Overall it turned out ok. I realized when i started doing the sponging though, it was lifting up the yellow base I previously painted. i think that is because I didn't let it dry enough. I won't go into detail of how i did it though- I may do that a little later when I retry this (and I definately will do it again!).  But, let me know if you would like a tutorial sooner!

Zoya - Charla

I recently purchased Zoya’s Charla at my local Ulta. It was my first Zoya purchase and it made a great first impression. I used two coats of it and it was very opaque. It has a nice teal base color with green and gold shimmer in it. In the sun, the gold shines through beautifully! The color reminds me of the mermaids in the last Pirates of the Carribean movie (or any mermaids, actually). It did have a slight rough texture but once I applied my Poshe quick drying top coat, it really showed all the colors nicely. I wore it for a little over a week and only had very little chipping! But, like all glitter polishes- It is a pain in the butt to remove. Overall, though, I will definately be purchasing more from Zoya. Hopefully, after this polish, my expectations will continue to be met with this brand. Love this color!

**I used Butter London’s The Full Monty on my ring fingers to accent the gold in Charla. It took 3 coats to get it to a nice opaqueness.
